At Schmitz Cargobull, we are looking for a Plant Controller who enjoys working close to the business, not just behind spreadsheets. This role offers the opportunity to influence operational performance, support strategic decisions and work directly with production, supply chain and finance teams in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Your duties

Take ownership of plant controlling activities, supporting monthly closing, forecasting, budgeting and management reporting.
Analyze manufacturing costs, identify deviations and provide actionable recommendations to improve operational performance.
Drive transparency in product costing, inventory valuation and profitability analysis.
Partner with Production, Supply Chain, Purchasing and Finance to support data-driven decision-making.
Develop business cases and investment analyses for operational and strategic initiatives.
Monitor key performance indicators and help transform data into meaningful business insights.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of controlling processes and reporting standards.
Support the further development and optimization of SAP S/4HANA controlling processes.

Your profile

A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
Experience in Plant Controlling, Cost Accounting or Manufacturing Finance.
Strong analytical skills and a genuine interest in understanding how production processes drive financial results.
Hands-on experience with SAP, ideally SAP S/4HANA.
Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools is a plus.
Good communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across different functions.
Professional proficiency in English.
