Pia Wierling

Head of Business Development

„Mahlzeit, Hola, Labas!“ – as international as her greetings, so too has Pia’s career unfolded. She began in 2010 with a dual business administration degree and has since gained experience in Germany, Spain and Lithuania. In Altenberge, she first worked as a process and logistics planner and later as a segment manager. She then moved to Spain, where she worked as a project manager and was responsible for setting up a new plant from a greenfield site to the first production run – her personal highlight.

Today, Pia works in Lithuania as Head of Business Development for the Product Line Food & Distribution, shaping topics such as pricing, procurement, networks and processes.

Tobias Iking

Technical Project Manager

Around the world for the blue elephant. Tobias’ Elephant Story began in 2017 with a dual degree in industrial engineering combined with training as an industrial clerk. He then worked in logistics planning, building supply chains and managing bottlenecks. As Supply Network Planner for the Product Line Cool Freight, he deepened his expertise in material flows. In 2023, he spent 25 months in Australia — first as Project Manager for the production system, later as Supply Manager responsible for purchasing, logistics and planning. Since May 2025, he has been working in Switzerland as a Technical Product Manager for the overseas markets, where he is responsible for market expansion, technical support and process optimization.

Christian Kemper

Production Manager, Vreden

Christian proves that vocational training is a strong Plan A. After finishing secondary school, he began his apprenticeship as a construction mechanic with us – a path that led him from tool and fixture construction to group and segment leadership, and eventually to Head of Training. There, he discovered his passion for supporting young talent. Today, Christian is a Production Manager, enthusiastically overseeing the entire process from planning to the finished product.

Britta Sprey

Managing Director, Cargobull Parts & Services GmbH

Britta Sprey laid the foundation for her career up to top management with her dual business administration studies at Schmitz Cargobull. Starting in 2003, she took on her first leadership responsibilities in logistics after completing her studies and subsequently held positions in Purchasing and Supply Management. Today, as Managing Director of Cargobull Parts & Services and Product Line Manager, she leads the global aftersales business. She explains her long tenure with the company by the fact that Schmitz Cargobull has always offered new opportunities for development and change.

Dragan Trninic

Teamlead Back Office

7 years – 5 positions – 3 countries. In 2018, after completing his studies in Serbia, Dragan came to Germany as a government intern and ended up by chance in Sales Support in Horstmar. What began as a six‑month internship became the start of his Elephant Story. Back in Serbia, he supported new vehicle sales, became Global Key User for Cargosell and later took responsibility for SAP processing for Central Europe. In 2023, he returned to Germany once again for a project.

Today, Dragan lives in Portugal, where he leads the back‑office team – driven by his passion for sales and, of course, the blue elephant.

Jona Ostendorf

Global Key User

From the workbench to the digital factory structure. Jona began his mechatronics apprenticeship in 2020 and was already supporting factory structure planning during that time – not in the classic way on the assembly line, but with digital twins and virtual layouts. Since being taken on in 2023, he has been using this combination of hands-on experience and digital expertise to drive factory planning forward with clear data flows and efficient concepts. In parallel, he is studying Energy Engineering at Münster University of Applied Sciences.

Since September 2025, Jona has been working as Global Key User Production Engineering, connecting specialist departments, IT and international plants to develop global, scalable standards for a digital and transparent production environment.
